What Raw Food Can I Eat While I’m In My Car?

by Mona - Some Like It Raw on August 14, 2010

Lara Bars are great on-the-go raw food snacks! So, my raw food loving friends…what if you’re out running errands and you get hungry?

You don’t want to wind up in a drive-thru with a bucket of fries and a soda…

You don’t want to wind up at a gas station with a bag of Doritos, or at a Starbucks with a grande latte and a huge danish…

How can you make sure you have a good healthy raw food snack while you’re away from your house?

Lara Bars to the rescue!

Most of the Lara Bars are raw. And the ones that aren’t raw are usually around 80% raw like the Peanut Butter Cookie one (because the peanuts are roasted.)

There are so many great Lara Bar flavors and they’re mostly made of raw nuts and dates.

That’s the main base. Then, depending on what flavor you get, there are additional fruits or seasonings in them.

My favorite is the one in the yellow package called Banana Bread.

It’s made with dates, bananas and cashews. That’s it!

You can keep these in your car, put them in your brief case, keep them in your purse…

The other day I even picked one up at the check out counter at TJMaxx as I was returning some clothes!

They’re available in most health food stores…and at Whole Foods, if you buy a whole container of them, they’ll give you a 10% discount at most stores. So find a flavor you like and keep them on hand so you can enjoy a great raw snack while you’re out instead of being tempted by all the fast food places around town.

What’s your favorite flavor Lara Bar?

Solveig – The good news is that you can order them online! http://www.LaraBar.com or you can look for them in local health food stores or Whole Foods if you have one close by. Enjoy!
